Highlights this week:
James had his Walk Through California adventure at school. He dressed as a gold minter and he and he fourth grade compatriots filed in as teams into the cafetorium to show their stuff for an audience of proud parents. A high energy host took the back through time and each kid got to act as an expert on a little piece of information they memorized. James's word was "peninsula". He did very well when it was his turn in the hot seat, and he also got to volunteer to be Father Junipero Serra and answer every question with "Si." He had fun.
Saturday we ahd date night. Kenny and I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which I thought was pretty good. We followed it up with delicious cheesecake and potstickers, except not in that order, at The Cheesecake Factory. When we got home, I had to cram in some preparation to teach Gospel Doctrine the next day after a last minute sub call, but the lesson ended up going well.
Grant worked on his walking skills a little bit. A very little bit. He can do it, but he's not that into it. He knee walks everywhere he goes. He's becoming famous for it.
Kenny worked on an alternative version of Allergan's "find a doc" application for several hours on his own. When he presented it this week, everyone flipped out about how awesome it was, so he's really happy about that.
I did pretty well with my work outs and great on my writing goals. This novel feels like it's coming together and I'm enjoying it. I'm stell waiting to hear from Covenant about my manuscript, Click, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's been six weeks so far, so it could take a while longer. But it's fun to think there's still a possibility and no definite rejection yet. We'll see...
Sunday we brought a pot roast over to Skip and Joan's house and enjoyed a birthday dinner with Skip. I'm glad James andd Grant has such a patient and fun grandfather.
