I think I'm in love with no school on Mondays. In fact, I think every Monday should be a national holiday from now on. Whose with me? Monday was lovely. Kenny and James were both home and Grant and I had a great time hanging out with them all day. At one point, the boys went in search of a model car to put together (they came back with model planes instead) and puttered around in the garage working on them for an hour or two in the afternoon. That evening, we celebrated Grandma's birthday with everyone at California Pizza Kitchen and James had fun visiting with his cousins.
Other highlights from the week include going to James's school Open House where he got to show Kenny all the stuff he's been working on. I get to see it since I'm usually in his classroom once a week helping the teacher, but it was fun for him to show his K-dad what he's been up to.
Friday morning, Nadine and I played tennis while Grant "helped" by crawling across the court periodically. That afternoon at Cubs, he decided he's walk all over the primary room but he still won't do it much at home. He's definitely walking more this week than ever before but...that's still not a lot.
Saturday morning we met Jamie and Nadine at Rogers Gardens in Newport Beach for a citrus tasting. After trying all the different fruits (Australian finger limes, anybody?), we wandered through the nursery in pursuit of our projects. Kenny used his trusty new camera to take pictures of the different flora, and I got the fixings for a new container herb garden including rosemary, thyme (but no sage), cilantro, parsley, spearamint, basil, and...that might be it. That afternoon I put the garden together and it's alive after four days so that's a success. In fact, it's practically a new record for me. Saturday night, Kenny and I went to see Cirque du Soleil Jungle dreams and loved it. We really wished James was there to see it too, and we'll definitely bring him to the next one.
Sunday we finally finished of the Planet Earth series, but I bet James just starts us over on Disc 1 again next Sunday anyway.
