Baby Grant is on the move! He has begun real crawling and not just army crawling, and he's also cruising the furniture like a champ. His current obsession is my laptop which he tries to smack every chance he gets. But it's a great opportunity to teach him the word "no" which he clearly understands but regularly ignores.

Grant and his friend Graydon on a ride to the park.

Monday, James had rock climbing and there was a local company selling climbing shoes so he tried some out and found a pair he really likes. However, they're purple so as soon as we got home he got a black Sharpie and colored in all the purple parts of his brand new $50 shoes. Which is better than him not wearing them at all, I guess!

Tuesday I had tennis and actually showed some improvement, for once. It was pretty fun to play and not be horrible.

Wednesday and Thursday were pretty uneventful. James didn't have swimming class this week so we had a slightly less hectic week than usual. I spent the afternoon Thursday in James's classroom helping to grade stuff and work with the kids on math.

Friday we had date night. Jamie and Nadine watched the boys for us (thank you!) and Kenny and I had grilled filet mignon at home and then went to see the movie The Secret Life of Bees. I thought it was really good but even if you're not  much of a cryer, it will probably get you bawling. After that, we went to Yo Yum Yum yogurt where we ran into friends and I got to eat their super yummy pumpkin flavor.

Saturday, Kenny took James to play miniature golf in the morning for a guys day out and then when they got back, I took James shopping at Mervyn's because that's what I like to do: make sure his pants are long enough and he doesn't look like a street urchin at school.

After shopping, we went to the wedding reception for Craig and Rachel Montgomery and then I took off early and went to my friend Heather's birthday girl's night where I got to hang out with Jaymee and some other old friends. I really like getting to hang out with my girlfriends because I get a little mommed out sometimes.

Grant is still being a bit of a fussy pot because of his teething but the last two days have been better, which is a blessing.

This week we start swimming again, so we're revving up for another busy week.

Re: Oct. 13-Oct. 19, Fall is in the air!

You are always on the go, girl! Wow! Sounds like fun, though. Good for you, for doing date nights. We need more of those. We do have a grown-ups only Halloween costume party this Friday. Our friends host one every year and it's a blast! I guess I can look forward to that! Good to hear you're progressing in tennis! Yay! Good for you for getting out and doing that. I'm impressed. byw - did you know my brother Mike turns 40 next month? Makes ME feel old. I'm only 4 years behind him. And my mom turns 60 in Dec. Yikes! That was random and way off topic, but I thought I'd share. See ya!
