We just got back from a week's cruise of Alaska and about 5 days at Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound.  I thought I'd hurry and get some pictures up here.

(I'm making a mental note to include more people in the photos I take...)

James made the coolest claymation video at camp this Summer. It was the best of all the ones in his class (and I'm not just saying that...). I'm now a little embarrassed by the low quality of "The Jamesie and Kenny" show.   And unfortunately, we now know who's fault that is...

So it was "Boy's Weekend".  Melanie had a writer's workshop in Utah last Saturday and I was entrusted with the care and handling of our boys from Friday night to Sunday morning.  We all survived.  But one got seasick, one got sunburned, and one got some poopy pants (boy, was I embarrassed about that!!!)

This is the first episode...

So I took Grant to the doctors for his 4 month well baby check-up and shots last Friday.  Because Melanie can't stand the look of betrayal in the eyes of a newborn getting stabbed with a needle and likewise can't stomach the sound of a dentist drill, I was appointed early on our marriage to be the taker of children to the drills and needles appointments.

He now smiles all the time.  He turns his head when he hears mommy or daddy's voice, and he howls when his big brother James is tickling or making faces at him.  James is a ... Read More »

Hi, everyone.

So it's been over a week now, and I'm now finally getting around to sending out some pictures of the new baby. I still don't have many up there, but if you like, check back in a day or two and I'll put more up there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/thejacobsons/sets/72157603162982903/

Oh boy, where do we start? Copyright Jill Peterson Photography

We've had both happy and sad in these 8 months, so let's start witht he sad so we can end on a happy note.

Melanie lost her father two months before our wedding, and then we lost her mother the month after our wedding. The day after her mother's passing, Melanie's "paw-paw" (Jimmy Bennett) unexpectedly passed away. Bonita's funeral in Riverside was amazing. People came from all round to pay tribute to this angel of a woman who touched so many lives. We then flew to Baton Rouge for her second, also well attended, funeral. It was there in Baton Rouge, that her mortal bod ... Read More »
